Most moving companies in Dubai sell the same promise: careful packing, no hidden fees, a stress-free day. The contracts behind that promise are far less alike.
One mover’s terms put the cost of any damage on you, even when its own crew caused it. Another’s terms say it doesn’t provide transportation itself and uses independent contractors. Neither fact appears on the homepage.
To find the best moving companies in Dubai, this guide ranks 15 movers and packers by what they prove in public: written terms, published prices, a confirmed Dubai address and verifiable accreditation. Every fact comes from each company’s own website, checked in October 2026. Nobody from Khaleej Desk booked a move with any of them.
Below you’ll find a side-by-side table, the ranked list, what house shifting really costs, what the contracts say, and the Ejari, DEWA and permit steps that decide whether moving day starts on time.
At a glance
Only two of the 15 movers publish a Dubai price list, and only five publish contract terms you can read before you call. This table shows what each one puts in writing.

How to read this table: “Not listed” means we couldn’t find it on the company’s own website, not that it doesn’t exist. Ask for it in writing. “Damage cover” is the most a mover pays by default if it breaks something. It isn’t insurance, and “optional” cover costs extra. Only GI states that its prices include VAT.
Rank reflects what each mover proves in public, weighted toward what protects you as a customer. Brand size and advertising played no part.
We started with more than 30 movers and packers in Dubai, drawn from six published roundups and ten separate searches. Those lists supplied names only.
To stay in, a mover needed a working website, a dedicated page for home moving and a Dubai office listed on its own site. Nineteen passed and were researched in detail. Fifteen made the final list.
Contradictions don’t remove a mover from the list. They appear as the limit in its entry, and serious ones lower its rank.
No company paid to appear on this list.
GI Movers’ contract handles the moment most moves go wrong. If the crew finds more items than quoted, no lift access or a long carry, GI must tell you and agree the extra charge before doing the work. Its terms also say prices include VAT, the only mover here to state that.
The terms, updated on 1 October 2026, carry its Abu Dhabi trade licence number. Quotes stay valid for 30 days, you can pay by card online, and a booking is confirmed only once you accept the quote in writing.
GI is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and runs its Dubai operation from a warehouse in Dubai Investment Park 2. It’s a natural pick for moves between the two cities.
The gaps sit in the numbers. GI publishes no prices, no deposit amount and no liability figure, since each is set in your quote. You also apply for building permits yourself unless GI agrees otherwise in writing.
Easytruck is the only mover here that lets you price, book and pay for a move online. Its calculator turns your home size into a quote, and the booking form takes your deposit on the spot.
Behind the form sit three Dubai warehouses and thousands of mobile storage pods, delivered to your door, loaded and stored. That suits a move with a gap between leases.
Read the terms before you pay. The deposit is the full booking amount and non-refundable, yet a separate clause adds a AED 500 fee for cancelling within 48 hours. The standard terms also put repair and replacement costs on you, even when Easytruck caused the damage. Optional EasyCover pays up to AED 4,000 in total and excludes electrical faults.
The homepage promises the crew will unpack for you. The terms say unpacking costs extra unless your quote includes it. Get it in writing.
Allied starts with the building rules. Most Dubai towers and communities need a move permit from management, and Allied says its local team can arrange it as part of the job.
Its FAQ goes further than any other mover’s. Most communities block moves on Fridays and public holidays, and some areas, including Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai and Arabian Ranches, also limit moving hours around prayer times. Allied confirms the rules and books an approved slot.
Pricing follows home size, access and the services you add. Local moves usually book within one to two weeks, but summer and Eid fill up fast. The crew dismantles and reassembles furniture and coordinates appliance disconnection with building maintenance.
The limits are on paper. Allied publishes no prices, deposit rules or liability figures, and it strongly recommends transit protection for every move. That tells you default cover is thin. Get both terms in your quote.
Crown Relocations puts more into its standard Dubai package than any other mover on this list. Packing and unpacking are included, and so is reassembly of beds, wardrobes and tables. Crown also mounts your TV and fits basic ceiling lights, which it calls unique to its standard tier.
Lady packers are available on request. A Crown Plus tier adds handyman work and other extras, and POD storage covers a late handover.
Crown pitches its Dubai service at high-rise apartments and villas in restricted-access areas. It moves homes across all emirates from its warehouse in Dubai Investment Park 2.
Price and contract terms stay off the website. Crown lists no rates, deposit or cancellation rules, and full cover through CrownCare costs extra. The office keeps weekday hours, 8 AM to 5 PM, so book your survey early in the week.
A studio move with The Move It costs AED 549 to 799, according to its published price table. A one-bedroom runs AED 799 to 1,099, and a two-bedroom AED 1,099 to 1,599. Full packing is an add-on at AED 299 to 599.
Its cancellation terms are clear. Cancel two days out and you pay nothing. Inside 24 hours it’s half the invoice, and on the day it’s the full amount. Free cover pays AED 3 per kilo, capped at AED 250 for the whole move, and only if you report damage before the crew leaves.
One clause needs explaining. The homepage advertises RTA-approved trucks and its own moving crew. Its terms, last updated in 2022, describe a booking platform and say transport is provided by independent contractors. Ask who will actually show up.
The price table also promises NOC assistance, while the terms tell you to get the permit yourself.
AGS Movers Dubai is open about its size. The branch handles around 750 local and international moves a year with five trucks and 18,000 square feet of warehouses. Most movers never publish those figures.
It belongs to the AGS group, which lists more than 140 locations worldwide. France, the UK and Switzerland are its most popular destinations, and its Dubai team speaks languages including French, Hindi and Arabic.
The crew surveys both homes and arranges parking permits. Insurance options are offered for damage or loss.
Five trucks book up, so AGS advises at least four to six weeks’ notice. Its page also contradicts itself, saying the branch was established in 2011 yet has more than 17 years of experience. The Google widget there shows 4.2 from 80 reviews, with recent ones featured. No prices or contract terms appear.
GAC started moving households in Dubai in 1972, making it the longest-running mover on this list. The group began as a shipping agency in Kuwait in 1956 and says it was the first mover in the Middle East accredited by FIDI, in 1989.
International moves are its core. GAC suggests booking a survey four to six weeks before departure, offers video surveys, and quotes six to eight weeks for most door-to-door international deliveries.
Its published terms are freight conditions rather than a household moving contract. Liability is capped at AED 30 per kilo of gross weight or AED 20,000 per package, whichever is less. That formula pays little for a light, expensive item like a TV. GAC also won’t handle jewelry, antiques or pictures without a prior written arrangement.
One clause matters on delivery day. Accepting visibly damaged goods without complaint cancels your claim, so inspect everything before you sign.
If something breaks during an Alfa Movers job, its claims policy sets out the steps. Email support with photos, your booking reference and a description, and the team reviews it.
The same policy says what it won’t promise. There’s no fixed response time, no guaranteed outcome and no compensation figure, and a complaint isn’t treated as an admission of liability. That sits awkwardly beside the homepage line offering all-risk protection.
The rest of its terms, dated 31 March 2026, are well organized. A quote isn’t binding until confirmed in writing, extra charges can apply for stairs, waiting time or long carries, and permits are your job unless Alfa agrees otherwise.
Check the address before you visit. The contact page lists an office on Khaleej Road in Al Baraha, while both terms pages give a different building in Frij Murar.
The Box suits the move that doesn’t land cleanly. When the old lease ends before the new keys arrive, it can move you out, store everything in one of its three Dubai facilities and deliver later, at a fixed rate for both jobs.
Storage is its main business, with climate control, round-the-clock access and biometric entry. The moving side is more organized than that label suggests. An assessor visits before quoting, a dedicated move coordinator runs the job, and a handyman joins the crew for assembly.
Cover comes in two layers: insurance arranged on your declared value, and BoxShield, an add-on guarantee against accidental damage. Self-packers can book its Two Guys & a Truck service for transport only.
No prices appear, and the moving page doesn’t spell out what BoxShield pays. Its Terms page covers only website and packing-shop purchases, and even leaves the governing law blank. Ask for the moving contract and the BoxShield terms in writing.
Book a local move early with E-Movers and its site offers 20% off. That reward for planning ahead is rare in a market built on last-minute jobs.
The company has operated since 2003 and claims more than 100 vehicles, 500 staff and over 100,000 square feet of storage. Its site counter shows more than 155,000 moves. It offers lady packers, a UV sanitization room, and a White Glove service with a move concierge for villas and penthouses.
FIDI and IAM logos appear on its site, and independent directories list it as FIDI-FAIM Plus accredited.
The gap is the contract. Its business policy page covers anti-bribery and privacy, then says detailed terms are available on request. For one of Dubai’s largest movers, that’s a missing document. Ask for the standard terms before you pay.
A family shipping a household abroad gets a mover built for that job with Leader Relocations. It has moved households out of the UAE since 1991, with international removals, car shipping and excess baggage handled under one roof.
The site carries dedicated guides for eight destinations, from the US and UK to Australia and Singapore. Testimonials on its homepage cover moves from Dubai to the UK, Canada, Portugal and the Netherlands. It belongs to the IAM network of international movers.
For international moves, Leader advises booking several months ahead. Local removals, GCC moves and temperature-controlled storage sit alongside.
The site proves less than its history suggests. No prices or contract terms appear, and Leader calls itself fully licensed and insured without showing a licence number. Its FAQ, last updated in 2024, answers a question about customs duties with a note about contacting support.
Choose and Move bundles three businesses behind one phone number. It moves homes and offices, rents self storage units at its Al Quoz warehouse, and sells deep cleaning, painting, plumbing and AC maintenance through a sister handyman site.
That suits a move-out where the flat needs a deep clean and fresh paint before the keys go back. One booking can cover all of it.
It has operated since 2014 and claims more than 20,000 moves. The site shows a Google review widget with 1,547 reviews and publishes a 2026 cost guide that puts a typical two-bedroom move at AED 1,500 to 2,800.
What’s missing is the contract. No terms page, deposit rules or damage limits appear. The cost guide is general market advice, not a price list for Choose and Move itself.
DASA was the first company in the Middle East to earn FAIM, FIDI’s quality certification, in 2000. It started in an Abu Dhabi apartment in 1979, expanded into household relocations in 1984 and opened in Dubai in 1997.
That history shows in its services. DASA handles international household moves, fine art and high-value pieces through a specialist arm, and freight forwarding for oversized cargo. Pet relocation features heavily in the reviews on its homepage, with families moving cats and dogs to the UK and Europe.
A family firm run by British expats, DASA is now led by the founder’s son and is one of three UAE members of the OMNI moving network.
The problem is reaching the paperwork. Its Conditions of Contract page failed to load four times during research, and so did its local moves page. No prices appear. Ask for the contract by email before you book.
Best Mover’s price table says what you get, not just what you pay. A studio or one-bedroom starts at AED 700 with packing, dismantling and unpacking included. A two-bedroom starts at AED 1,250, a three-bedroom at AED 1,800, and villas from AED 3,000 after a site visit.
It also prices single items, from AED 250 for a sofa or bed, and small offices from AED 1,200.
Treat the table as a starting point. A second line on the same page offers apartment moves from AED 499, and the terms say it won’t dismantle fittings unless agreed. Those terms list no deposit, cover or cancellation figures, and accept cash or company cheques only.
The homepage contradicts itself too. It claims 13 and 15 years of experience, five moves a day and 50, ten vehicles and more than 100 trucks. Confirm every number in writing.
On The Move is run by a British management team, and it leans on that. Its site promises a one-to-one moving consultant who guides you through each step.
It says it has moved more than 14,000 families within the UAE and abroad, covering local moves across the emirates, international removals, pet relocation and storage. Its storage facility covers 6,000 square feet in Jebel Ali Industrial Area, and the company is an IAM member.
Testimonials on its homepage describe moves from Dubai back to the UK, with on-time delivery and nothing broken.
The website is the weak point. The footer still reads 2019, the newest blog post covers its COVID-19 response, and no prices, terms or process details appear. A quiet website doesn’t prove poor service, but it gives you nothing to check. Ask for the quote and terms in writing.
A two-bedroom move within Dubai typically costs AED 1,800 to 2,800 by market estimates, while the two movers that publish prices start well below that. Most house shifting services in Dubai quote only after a survey, so this section sets the published lists beside three outside estimates.
| Home size | The Move It (published) | Best Mover (published, from) | ServiceMarket (estimate) | Real Estate Club Dubai (estimate) | Jeebly (estimate) |
| Studio | 549 to 799 | 700 | 1,000 to 1,200 | 750 to 1,200 | 500 to 800 |
| 1-bedroom | 799 to 1,099 | 700 | 1,200 to 1,500 | 1,000 to 1,600 | 500 to 800 |
| 2-bedroom | 1,099 to 1,599 | 1,250 | 1,800 to 2,500 | 1,800 to 2,800 | 800 to 2,500 |
| 3-bedroom apartment | Not listed | 1,800 | Not listed | 3,000 to 4,500 | 800 to 2,500 |
| 3-bedroom villa | 1,599 to 2,499 | Not listed | 4,000 to 5,000 | 4,000 to 5,000 | 2,000 to 5,000 |
| 4-bedroom+ villa | Not listed | 3,000 | Not listed | 6,000 to 7,000+ | 3,000 to 6,000 |
All figures in AED for moves within Dubai, checked October 2026. Neither published list says whether 5% VAT is included. Jeebly sells moves through its own Moveo service, and its ranges group several home sizes together.
The published prices undercut every estimate, but they don’t buy the same job. The Move It’s prices cover labor, truck and insurance, with full packing added at AED 299 to 599. Packed, its two-bedroom move costs AED 1,398 to 2,198, which lands in the lower half of the market range. Best Mover’s prices already include packing and unpacking.
Movers also price on different bases. Easytruck’s terms count trucks, crew and materials, while Allied prices on home size, access and the services you add. Real Estate Club Dubai notes that volume matters more than floor area.
The estimates disagree with each other, too. Real Estate Club Dubai bases its ranges on aggregator guides and a dataset of 512 quotes. Property Finder puts a one-bedroom from around AED 500, and Engel & Völkers puts a studio or one-bedroom at AED 1,000 to 2,000. Use the published lists as a floor and the estimates as a check.
Jeebly estimates that a Dubai to Abu Dhabi move costs AED 1,800 to 4,500 for an apartment and AED 3,500 to 8,000 for a villa, with transport alone adding AED 500 to 1,500. Easytruck charges a fixed inter-emirate fee, set in each quote.
The starting emirate matters as well. Real Estate Club Dubai cites data showing a one-bedroom move at AED 1,000 to 1,600 in Dubai, against AED 700 to 1,200 in Sharjah. Heading the other way? Our guide to moving companies in Abu Dhabi compares the movers based there.
The quote is rarely the final bill. These extras come straight from mover terms and published cost guides:
Cheap moving companies in Dubai often win on the headline number, then add these on the day. Real Estate Club Dubai warns of quotes that double once furniture is on the truck. The fix is GI’s rule, written into its contract: any extra charge must be agreed before the work happens. Ask every mover to put that in your quote.
Two of the five movers with public contracts take your full payment at booking, and the default damage payout ranges from zero to AED 250 for a whole move. Among packing and moving companies in Dubai, only GI, Easytruck, The Move It, GAC and Alfa publish terms you can read before you call.
| Mover | When you pay | Free cancellation | Late cancellation |
| GI Movers | Deposit at booking, balance by delivery | More than 72 hours out | Up to 25% of deposit at 24 to 72 hours. Deposit may be lost inside 24 hours |
| Easytruck | 100% at booking, non-refundable | Not stated | AED 500 inside 48 hours |
| The Move It | 100% on confirmation | 2 days’ notice | 50% inside 24 hours. 100% on the day |
| Alfa Movers | Not stated | Not stated | Charges “where reasonable,” no amounts |
| GAC | In full when due, no deductions | Not stated | Not stated |
Real Estate Club Dubai advises never paying 100% upfront, and says a small deposit with the balance on completion is the normal structure. Easytruck and The Move It both ask for the full amount at booking.
GI’s structure is the safest for you. Approved refunds go back to your original card within 7 working days, and if GI cancels on its side, you get everything back. Easytruck’s terms contradict themselves: the payment is non-refundable, yet a separate AED 500 fee applies to late cancellations.
Default cover is the amount a mover pays without any extra purchase. Here’s what that means for a 25 kg TV worth AED 4,000:
| Mover | Default cover | Payout on that TV | Optional cover |
| Easytruck | None. You bear the cost even if the crew caused it | AED 0 | EasyCover, up to AED 4,000 total, visible damage only |
| The Move It | AED 3 per kg, AED 250 cap, reported before the crew leaves | AED 75 | 3% of declared value, pays 75% of the loss |
| GAC | AED 30 per kg, up to AED 20,000 per package | AED 750 | Higher limits by written agreement |
| GI | Set in your quote | Depends on quote | Insurance on request |
| Alfa | No figure stated | Unknown | Not stated |
The gap is wide enough to plan around. On The Move It’s premium plan, declaring AED 60,000 of belongings costs AED 1,800 and would pay AED 3,000 on that TV. Easytruck’s EasyCover excludes electrical and mechanical faults, so a TV that arrives unbroken but doesn’t switch on isn’t covered.
The premium movers skip default figures and sell cover instead: Allied’s transit protection, Crown’s CrownCare and The Box’s BoxShield. Ask each one what its plan costs and what it excludes.
Moving day in Dubai depends on three approvals in a fixed order: Ejari, then DEWA, then your building or developer permits. Miss one and the truck can be turned away, and at GI and The Move It a missing permit can cost you the deposit or the full job.
The move-week order:
DEWA’s own service guide explains the link: once your Ejari is issued, DEWA emails a welcome notice with your new account number and a payment link for the deposit. Pay it, and electricity and water connect within 15 working hours.
The refundable deposit is AED 2,000 for an apartment and AED 4,000 for a villa. Already a DEWA customer? Its move service transfers your account, and your existing deposit carries over. Moving from an apartment to a villa means topping up the difference.
Time the old account’s disconnection for the day after you hand back the keys, so lights and AC still work for the final inspection.
Emaar made move permits mandatory across its developments in November 2013. Applications go through the Sakani portal or the Emaar One app, and a move-out permit needs at least 24 hours’ notice. Communities covered include Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina and Dubai Hills Estate. Bayut says Emaar charges nothing for the permit itself.
Dubai Properties runs its permits through the RealConnect app and won’t issue a move-out permit until community fees are paid. Nakheel communities require a permit too.
Individual towers are a different story. Real Estate Club Dubai reports processing fees of about AED 100 to 250 in most managed towers, plus a refundable lift deposit of AED 500 to 2,000. Expect to show your Emirates ID, your Ejari, the mover’s trade licence and, for a first move-in, often a landlord NOC.
Who applies depends on the mover. Allied and AGS help with permits as part of the job. GI and Alfa leave them to you unless agreed in writing, and The Move It charges the full job if a move is cancelled for missing permits.
Most communities block moves on Fridays and public holidays, according to Allied. Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai and Arabian Ranches also limit moving hours around prayer times. Bayut’s guide to Dubai Properties permits says moves are allowed Saturday to Thursday, 8 AM to 7 PM.
Lead times vary by mover. Allied books most local moves within one to two weeks, while AGS asks for four to six. Jeebly suggests three to four weeks for month-end and summer moves, when demand peaks.
A safe plan: book two weeks ahead for an apartment, and a month ahead for a villa or any move in summer or at month end.
The right mover depends on the move. Here’s where to start for the six moves people make most.
The Move It publishes the lowest prices on this list, from AED 549 for a studio. Best Mover starts at AED 700 with packing included. If you’ve packed yourself, The Box’s Two Guys & a Truck service covers transport only. Easytruck’s online calculator gives you a third number to compare against. A man with a van can work for a few boxes, but Real Estate Club Dubai warns that unlicensed operators can be turned away at towers that require a mover’s trade licence.
Crown’s standard package covers most of the setup a villa needs. Allied handles permits, and GI’s contract protects you from surprise charges on a big job. Whoever you choose, buy optional cover.
The Box quotes a fixed rate to move you out, store everything and deliver later. Easytruck’s mobile pods do the same, but read its storage terms in the contracts section first. Choose and Move rents units from 16 to 200 sq ft at its Al Quoz warehouse.
GI keeps offices in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so each end has a local team. Easytruck charges a fixed inter-emirate fee written into your quote, and runs a warehouse in Abu Dhabi’s ICAD as well. Allied offers dedicated support for moves between emirates.
This is where the removal companies Dubai expats have used for decades earn their place. GAC has moved households from Dubai since 1972 and quotes six to eight weeks for most international door-to-door deliveries.
Leader publishes country guides from the US to Singapore. AGS ships most often to France, the UK and Switzerland. Moving a pet as well? DASA’s homepage reviews come largely from families who relocated cats and dogs with it.
Default cover won’t protect anything expensive, so the add-on matters more than the mover. Crown’s CrownCare, Allied’s transit protection and The Box’s BoxShield are built for this. The Box also offers specialised teams for art, antiques and musical instruments. One warning: GAC won’t handle jewelry, antiques or pictures without a prior written arrangement.
Published prices start lower than market estimates. The Move It lists AED 799 to 1,099, plus AED 299 to 599 for full packing, and Best Mover starts at AED 700 with packing included. ServiceMarket estimates AED 1,200 to 1,500, and Real Estate Club Dubai AED 1,000 to 1,600. Ask whether VAT is included.
It depends on the mover. Easytruck and The Move It take 100% at booking, while GI takes a deposit and the balance by delivery. Real Estate Club Dubai advises against paying everything upfront, since a small deposit with the rest on completion is the normal structure.
Often very little by default. Easytruck pays nothing unless you buy EasyCover, The Move It pays up to AED 250 for the whole move, and GAC pays AED 30 per kilo. Buy optional cover for anything valuable, and report damage fast: before the crew leaves at The Move It, and within 7 days at GI.
Usually you. Allied and AGS help with permits as part of their service, while GI and Alfa leave them to you unless agreed in writing. Emaar permits go through the Sakani portal or the Emaar One app, and Dubai Properties uses its RealConnect app.
Yes. Your Ejari triggers DEWA’s welcome email with the deposit payment link, and power and water connect within 15 working hours of payment. The refundable deposit is AED 2,000 for an apartment and AED 4,000 for a villa. Many buildings also ask for your Ejari before issuing a move permit.
Usually not. Most communities block moves on Fridays and public holidays, and Dubai Properties communities allow moves Saturday to Thursday, 8 AM to 7 PM. Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai and Arabian Ranches also limit hours around prayer times. A weekday slot is easier to book and often cheaper.
Not by default at every mover. The Move It excludes disconnecting and reconnecting electrical equipment, while Allied coordinates disconnection with your building’s maintenance team. Real Estate Club Dubai lists appliance and AC work as a typical extra charge. Ask for it by name in your quote.
Ask for it in writing before you pay. GI prints its trade licence number in its terms, and many buildings ask for the mover’s licence before issuing a permit anyway. Check that the company name on the licence matches the name on your quote and invoice.
Most moving companies in Dubai look alike until you read the contract. Here’s where each budget should start.
On a tight budget: The Move It. It publishes the lowest prices on this list, from AED 549 for a studio, and its cancellation tiers are clear. It takes full payment at booking, and its terms say independent contractors do the moving, so ask who will show up.
In the middle: GI Movers. Its contract is the fairest here: prices include VAT, extra charges must be agreed before the work, and refunds go back to your card within 7 working days. Ask for the price and the liability limit in your quote.
For a full-service villa move: Crown Relocations. Its standard package covers reassembly, TV mounting and basic ceiling lights. Add CrownCare if anything you own is worth more than default cover pays.
For a move abroad: GAC International Moving. It has moved households out of Dubai since 1972 and quotes six to eight weeks for most international deliveries. Its liability is paid by weight, so buy cover, and inspect everything before you sign on arrival.
Before you pay anyone, get six answers in writing. Copy this, fill in the brackets and send it to two or three movers.
Hello. I’m moving a [size] home from [area] to [area] around [date]. I need [full packing, or crew and truck only], plus [assembly, appliance disconnection or other extras]. Please send a written quote that confirms: the total price and whether it includes VAT, the deposit and when it’s due, your cancellation rules, your liability limit, who applies for the building permit, and that any extra charge will be agreed with me before the work is done.
A mover that won’t answer all six in writing has told you something too.
