An Emirates Post P.O. Box gives individuals and organizations in the UAE a verified mailing address for receiving letters, packets, and parcels. The right subscription depends mainly on who will use the P.O. Box and how the mail should be received.
For personal use, Emirates Post currently offers MyBox for physical mail collection, MyHome for weekly home delivery, and MyHome Instant for faster next-day delivery within the plan allowance. Businesses and government organizations use separate corporate plans with collection, weekly delivery, or daily delivery options.
This guide explains the current plans, prices, eligibility, documents, application process, mail handling, renewal, expiry, and management rules so you can choose the appropriate service.
An Emirates Post P.O. Box is a postal mailbox service that provides an individual or organization with a verified mailing address for receiving domestic and international letters, packets, and parcels.
A P.O. Box number identifies the mailbox used for postal delivery. It does not identify the physical location of your home or office, and it is not automatically a UAE postal or ZIP code.
Depending on the subscription, incoming mail may either be held for physical collection or delivered to a home or business address.
Not every UAE resident needs to rent a personal P.O. Box.
It is most useful when you want:
Businesses should evaluate their requirements separately because corporate P.O. Boxes have different eligibility, documentation, pricing, and delivery options.
If you decide that you need a P.O. Box, the first important question is whether it will be used personally or by a company or organization.
Emirates Post separates personal and corporate subscriptions because they are intended for different users and require different documentation.
| P.O. Box Type | Designed For | Core Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Personal P.O. Box | Individual UAE residents | Emirates ID |
| Corporate P.O. Box | Companies and government organizations | Emirates ID and valid trade licence |
A personal applicant must currently be a UAE resident, at least 18 years old, and have a valid Emirates ID.
Corporate subscriptions are designed for licensed businesses and government organizations. They are connected to the organization’s commercial identity rather than an individual’s personal mail.
A personal P.O. Box should therefore not be treated as the company’s corporate mailbox.
For an individual applicant, the next decision is based primarily on how the mail should reach you.
Emirates Post currently offers three personal plans: MyBox, MyHome, and MyHome Instant.
The main difference is not mailbox size. It is the way incoming mail is collected or delivered.
| Plan | Current Price | How You Receive Mail | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| MyBox | AED 300 | Collect from a physical P.O. Box | Users comfortable collecting mail |
| MyHome | AED 695 | Home delivery once per week | Users wanting regular doorstep delivery |
| MyHome Instant | AED 995 | Next-day home delivery within plan allowance | Users wanting faster delivery |
A new personal subscription also currently has an AED 70 registration fee.
The plan prices above were verified in August 2026 and are listed by Emirates Post as VAT inclusive. Prices and service conditions can change.
MyBox is the physical-collection option.
The subscriber receives a private P.O. Box at an Emirates Post location and collects incoming mail there.
Current MyBox features include:
MyBox is generally the most suitable choice if you want the lowest-priced personal plan and do not mind collecting the mail yourself.
MyHome is the weekly home-delivery option.
Unlike MyBox, the service is not based on collecting from one physical mailbox in the same way. Emirates Post receives and sorts the mail, then delivers it to the subscriber’s home once per week.
The current plan allows an unlimited number of mail items and parcels within the scheduled weekly delivery service.
Another important difference is portability. Emirates Post currently states that MyHome subscribers can retain their P.O. Box number when moving.
MyHome is therefore more appropriate if regular doorstep delivery is more convenient than visiting a postal location.
MyHome Instant is the faster home-delivery option.
Incoming mail is delivered on a next-day basis, with the current yearly subscription providing up to 60 next-day deliveries.
It is intended for users who prefer home delivery but need mail more quickly than the weekly MyHome schedule.
The decision can therefore be simplified to:
MyBox: physical collection
MyHome: weekly home delivery
MyHome Instant: next-day home delivery within the allowance
For personal users, an Emirates Post P.O. Box currently starts at AED 300 for MyBox.
| Item | Current Fee |
|---|---|
| MyBox | AED 300 |
| MyHome | AED 695 |
| MyHome Instant | AED 995 |
| New registration fee | AED 70 |
| Additional personal postal agent | AED 50 |
The three subscription prices are currently presented by Emirates Post as VAT inclusive. The registration fee and optional services are listed separately.
These prices were verified in August 2026 and should be confirmed before payment because Emirates Post can update its fees.
Price should not be the only factor. MyBox costs less because the subscriber handles collection, while MyHome and MyHome Instant include doorstep delivery.
A personal Emirates Post P.O. Box is currently available to UAE residents aged 18 or above.
The basic requirements are:
For the current personal service, Emirates Post lists Emirates ID as the core required document.
Older third-party guides may mention passport photographs, visa copies, or additional identity documents that are not currently listed as standard requirements for the personal application.
Applicants should therefore follow the current Emirates Post requirements rather than relying on outdated checklists.
Once these eligibility requirements are met, the application can be completed digitally or through a branch.
You can currently apply for a personal P.O. Box through the Emirates Post website, mobile app, or a staffed branch.
For online applications, UAE PASS is used to verify the applicant’s identity.
For a personal P.O. Box, the current core document is a valid Emirates ID.
Corporate applications require additional business documentation and follow a different eligibility process.
The current service interface offers personal subscriptions for:
Optional auto-renewal is also available.
Some older Emirates Post contractual wording still describes the personal service using an annual structure. Because the newer service interface offers several subscription durations, the safest reference for an individual customer is the specific renewal date shown in the Emirates Post account.
Businesses follow a similar subscription model but use separate corporate plans.
Companies and government organizations can choose corporate P.O. Box plans according to how frequently they need mail collected or delivered.
| Corporate Plan | Current Price | How Mail Is Received |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Box | AED 995 | Physical collection |
| Premium Box | AED 2,495 | Weekly delivery to the business |
| Premium+ Box | AED 11,995 | Daily delivery to the business |
Additional current charges include:
| Additional Service | Current Fee |
|---|---|
| Registration | AED 70 |
| Additional corporate postal agent | AED 100 |
| Additional trade licence | AED 995 |
| Corporate Virtual P.O. Box | AED 995 |
These prices were verified in August 2026.
Basic Box is the corporate physical-collection option.
The organization receives a physical P.O. Box and collects its postal items rather than having them routinely delivered to the business premises.
Premium Box includes weekly mail delivery to the business location.
It is more suitable for organizations that receive regular postal mail but do not require daily delivery.
Premium+ includes daily mail delivery to the business location.
It is designed for organizations with higher or more frequent postal requirements.
The core corporate decision is therefore based on whether the organization needs physical collection, weekly delivery, or daily delivery.
Corporate subscriptions are intended for companies and government organizations.
The current core documentation includes:
The company must hold a valid commercial licence issued by an authorized UAE government body.
This does not mean that every business in the UAE automatically has the same legal requirement to rent its own Emirates Post P.O. Box. Postal requirements and company registered-address requirements are separate issues.
Corporate applications can currently be completed through Emirates Post digital channels or a branch.
The process generally involves:
Where commercial-licence information is available digitally, it can support the application process. Otherwise, the required licence information may need to be entered and documented.
Current corporate subscriptions also offer 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10-year terms, with optional auto-renewal.
Emirates Post also provides a Corporate Virtual P.O. Box for specific business arrangements.
Unlike Basic Box, it is not simply a physical mailbox located at an Emirates Post branch. The current corporate terms describe it particularly in connection with business centers and duty-free areas, where mail can be routed through the associated business-center arrangement.
The current listed price is AED 995.
A Corporate Virtual P.O. Box also cannot simply be converted into a physical P.O. Box at an Emirates Post location.
It should not be confused with a digital communication service. The Corporate Virtual P.O. Box remains part of a postal mail-routing arrangement.
Businesses operating through a free zone or shared business center should consider their free-zone company address requirements separately from their postal mailbox arrangements.
Once the subscription is active, incoming mail is handled according to the selected plan.
For personal subscribers:
For corporate subscribers:
This means that having a P.O. Box does not necessarily mean travelling to a post office. The selected subscription determines how the mail reaches the subscriber.
Yes. Emirates Post currently describes its personal P.O. Box service as supporting the receipt of letters, packets, and parcels, including domestic and international postal items.
The way the parcel reaches you then depends on the plan.
A P.O. Box should not, however, be assumed to satisfy the address requirements of every private courier. Door-to-door courier companies may require a building, street, unit, telephone number, or other physical-location details.
Those cases are covered separately in the UAE courier address requirements guide.
Physical P.O. Box subscribers should collect their mail regularly.
Under current Emirates Post terms, if mail accumulates until the box becomes full, the subscriber can be notified and given 15 days to clear the accumulated mail.
If it remains uncollected, postal items may eventually be returned to the sender.
Repeated overflow can also result in Emirates Post requiring the subscriber to move to a more suitable service arrangement.
Subscribers who cannot collect mail personally can instead authorize another person where the service allows it.
Yes. Emirates Post allows another person to act as an authorized postal agent for supported P.O. Box services.
Current additional-agent fees are:
| Subscription Type | Additional Agent Fee |
|---|---|
| Personal | AED 50 |
| Corporate | AED 100 |
Some plans already include an additional agent for the first year, so check what is included before purchasing an extra authorization.
The postal-agent option is particularly useful for physical collection plans when the subscriber or business representative cannot always collect mail personally.
After the P.O. Box is operating normally, the next responsibility is keeping the subscription active.
P.O. Box subscriptions can currently be renewed through Emirates Post digital channels or a staffed branch.
The specific renewal date can be checked in your Emirates Post account.
Emirates Post currently offers optional auto-renewal.
When enabled, the subscription is renewed using the payment method associated with the account.
Because auto-renewal is optional, subscribers should not assume that it has been activated automatically. Check the renewal settings and make sure the saved payment method remains valid.
Yes. Emirates Post currently provides a 30-day grace period after the subscription expiry date.
The subscriber should renew within this period if they want to continue using the service.
The grace period should not be treated as an additional paid subscription term. If the P.O. Box remains unrenewed after the grace period, the status of both the mailbox and incoming mail can change.
If the subscription is not renewed within the 30-day grace period, Emirates Post can cancel the service and reclaim the mailbox.
Uncollected mail may also be returned to the sender or otherwise handled according to the applicable postal rules.
Another current policy is particularly important. Emirates Post states that collecting mail associated with an expired or cancelled P.O. Box may incur an AED 1,000 storage or mailbag charge.
An expired P.O. Box should therefore not be treated as an active mailing address simply because you still know its number.
If you intend to keep using the service, renew it within the grace period and confirm its active status through your Emirates Post account.
If your needs have changed instead, several management options may be available before cancellation becomes necessary.
Emirates Post currently allows subscribers to make several changes to eligible P.O. Box subscriptions.
Yes.
When you upgrade to a more expensive eligible package, you pay the difference in price.
When you downgrade, Emirates Post’s current terms state that the difference in subscription price is not refunded.
Eligible changes can be managed through the P.O. Box section of the customer’s Emirates Post account.
A physical branch-linked P.O. Box generally cannot simply be transferred to another post office because P.O. Box numbers are allocated to specific locations.
MyHome works differently.
Because it is not tied to a physical branch mailbox in the same way, Emirates Post currently states that MyHome subscribers can retain their P.O. Box number when moving.
The correct answer therefore depends on the subscription:
Physical MyBox: tied to its postal location
MyHome: designed to allow greater portability
Emirates Post can also change a physical P.O. Box number or location under certain operational circumstances, subject to the applicable notice requirements.
If you lose the key to a physical P.O. Box, Emirates Post requires you to request a new lock rather than simply make a duplicate key.
The current replacement fee is:
AED 100 + 5% VAT
The request should be made through the relevant postal location, along with the required declaration or documentation.
If the P.O. Box is no longer needed at all, it should instead be formally cancelled.
Emirates Post currently allows personal and corporate P.O. Boxes to be cancelled online or through a post office, provided applicable outstanding amounts are settled.
For online cancellation:
Emirates Post currently states that cancellation may take up to 48 hours.
Current Emirates Post terms state that subscription fees for the unused portion of the rental period are not refunded after cancellation.
Before closing the P.O. Box, update organizations that regularly send mail to it, such as:
You should also collect any remaining mail before completing the cancellation.
Once the mailbox is closed, remember that the P.O. Box number was only one component of your postal information. It should not be confused with your physical address or postal code.
A P.O. Box, physical address, and postal code are different address elements with different functions.
| Address Element | What It Identifies | Main Use |
|---|---|---|
| P.O. Box | Postal mailbox | Receiving mail through a postal service |
| Physical address | Actual home, office, building, or unit | Locating the recipient |
| Postal code | Geographic or postal area where applicable | Supporting postal or address routing |
No. A P.O. Box number is not automatically a postal or ZIP code.
For example:
P.O. Box 12345, Dubai, UAE
Here, 12345 identifies the mailbox. It should not automatically be entered as a postal code when a form asks for a ZIP or postcode.
The broader rules for postcode fields are covered in the UAE postal code guide.
No.
A P.O. Box identifies where postal mail is received. A physical address identifies where the person, home, business, building, or unit is physically located.
A UAE physical address may include:
A P.O. Box can appear alongside physical-address information, but it does not replace it.
For example:
Recipient Name
P.O. Box 12345
Building 10, Example Street, Al Barsha
Dubai, UAE
Telephone Number
The correct combination depends on how the address will be used. The UAE address format guide explains these elements in more detail.
If you prefer in-person assistance, staffed Emirates Post locations can support P.O. Box-related transactions.
A branch may be useful for:
The nearest Emirates Post access point is not necessarily a full post office, so check the location type and current operating hours before travelling.
For current locations and timings, use the Emirates Post branches and opening hours directory.
MyBox is currently the lowest-priced personal plan at AED 300, plus the applicable new-registration fee.
It is designed for users who are comfortable collecting mail from a physical P.O. Box.
Yes. Emirates Post currently supports online personal and corporate P.O. Box applications using its website or mobile app, with UAE PASS used in the digital application process.
A personal P.O. Box should not be used as the company’s corporate mailbox. Businesses should use the appropriate corporate P.O. Box service linked to their organizational and licensing details.
It depends on the plan.
Physical branch-linked boxes follow location-based number allocation. Emirates Post currently states that MyHome subscribers can retain their P.O. Box number when moving.
Generally, no. Physical P.O. Box numbers are allocated to particular postal locations and cannot simply be moved from one branch to another.
Emirates Post currently provides a 30-day grace period after the subscription expires.
If you intend to keep the service, renew before the grace period ends.
No.
A Corporate Virtual P.O. Box is a postal mail-routing arrangement for eligible businesses. A digital P.O. Box or digital communications service performs a different function.
Not necessarily.
Whether a business needs one depends on its postal and administrative requirements. Company registered-address and free-zone requirements should be evaluated separately from Emirates Post mailbox services.
No.
A P.O. Box number identifies a postal mailbox. A postal code is a separate type of geographic or postal identifier where such a code applies.
No.
A P.O. Box is primarily a mailing identifier. A physical address identifies the actual building, office, residence, or unit.
The right Emirates Post P.O. Box depends mainly on who will use it and how the mail should be received.
For individuals, MyBox is suited to physical collection, MyHome provides weekly home delivery, and MyHome Instant provides faster next-day delivery within the current allowance.
Businesses and government organizations should choose a corporate plan according to whether they need mailbox collection, weekly delivery, or daily delivery.
Before applying, confirm the current plan price, eligibility, documents, subscription duration, and renewal conditions with Emirates Post because these service attributes can change over time.
